A name for the new one...

We have really been struggling to come up with what to call this new little baby. Last time Emby just came so easily-reading about Embryo’s, Adam says Emby in his high pitch cartoon character voice and it stuck. This time we have nothing. So far, Emby 2 has been the biggest hit. We have bounced around Lima (at one point the baby was the size of a lima bean), Feety (Adam’s shortened name for fetus), and Webby (because of the webbed hands and feet that you can read about below), but none of them really pop. Plus, I vetoed Feety the last time around so it wasn’t going to happen this time either. So, I guess for now Emby is the name of choice for our little guy/gal.

How your baby's growing-Week 8:

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.
