It's amazing how much I have forgotten about being pregnant. When it was happening I thought I would always remember everything about the experience, but clearly that is not the case. A few of the joys that I forgot about...
-inability to brush my teeth without gagging (what is the deal with this anyway?)
-lack of bladder control-seriously stop making me laugh so much
-getting up multiple times at night to use the bathroom
-inability to hide any emotions
Ok, it's really not that bad! In fact, I actually enjoyed being pregnant last time and am off to a good start to feeling the same way about this pregnancy. I just can't wait for the good stuff to start happening, like feeling the baby move-that will make it all worth it:)
How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
