It's a little pathetic when you realize that you have been so completely out of the party/social scene for so long that you lack even one invitation for New Year's festivities. It's even more pathetic when you don't even notice that you are lacking an invitation until December 31st. And to top it all off, it is the most pathetic when you get tired at 10:00pm on New Year's Eve and decide to just skip it all and call it a night.
