Leave it to us to try to cram as many things as possible into one weekend. Harrison’s birthday is on Cinco de Mayo, but we did that theme last year so on to something new. This year we decided to combine his family birthday party with the Pella Tulip Time festivities. Since most of Adam’s family already planned to be in Pella we thought we would invite my family along too. It all worked out beautifully and I think that everyone had a wonderful time. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend.
Amy, Reese, Grandma Gilson, and Harrison enjoy the night parade on Friday evening. This was so much fun. Harrison and Reese were captivated by all of the floats with lights and they loved the band. It was pretty cold and we probably shouldn't have kept the boys up so late when we had such a busy day planned for them on Saturday. Oh well...you only turn two once.
Harrison woke up a little on the cranky side on Saturday morning-to be expected when you stay up late to watch a parade. We had breakfast and opened birthday presents at Grandma and Grandpa Renuad's house. Harrison decided that he did not want us to sing "Happy Birthday" to him-he cried and yelled "different song", so we asked him what he wanted us to sing. He chose "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". As you can tell from the photo this made him extremely happy!
After breakfast we all got ready for the Birthday party. Pizza Ranch turned out to be a great location-not too busy even for Tulip Time. We had a private room reserved and were able to bring in our own cake. Harrison really liked the tulip cupcakes.
Next we all got ready for the afternoon parade. Harrison had a great time checking out all of the flowers in the square before he had to get ready to be in the parade.
Thank you everyone for a very fun birthday weekend for Harrison. It was such a blast getting these three little ones ready for the parade and I still can't believe that Harrison slept through the whole thing.
